LEARN · FUNDAMENTALS
Diluted shares include the potential conversion of dilutive securities (options, convertibles, etc.) under the treasury-stock or if-converted methods used in GAAP EPS.
P/E and per-share metrics change if you mix basic vs diluted. One-off share issuances also break naive TTM math.
Desk P/E prefers diluted EPS from companyfacts. We do not invent a share count to force market-cap when the tag is missing.
