A delayed quote is a last trade or indicative price published after an exchange-mandated delay (often ~15 minutes for U.S. equities on public web sources).
Research scanning does not require paid L1. Mislabeling delayed data as live creates false urgency and compliance risk.
Desk quotes come from Yahoo chart / Stooq-style public sources via the terminal bundle, always with provider and as-of metadata.
